New Era is possibly one of the world's most recognised companies when it comes to caps - their designs are iconic, classic and recognisable anywhere.
New Era has worked for many decades with professional athletes and sports teams around the world, especially baseball and American football. In 2015, New Era signed a contract with the Manchester United football team - giving them exclusive rights to caps for Manchester United, the NBA and the Yankees.
In addition to caps, New Era has also been producing high-quality streetwear since 2007.
The story behind the New Era
In 1920, Ehrhardt Koch, a man of German descent, had an idea to create new kinds of hats and caps so he borrowed money from his sister and colleague to set up the E. Koch company.
Within the first year, the company produced 60.000 Gatsby-style caps and changed its name to the New Era Cap Co.
In the 1930s, New Era produced their first baseball caps for the Cleveland Indians, as demand for fashion caps was decreasing, but professional baseball was becoming increasingly popular. In the 1950s, the iconic 59FIFTY cap was first produced.
In the 1980s, New Era began producing caps for college sports and international baseball leagues, American football leagues, and generally also selling caps to sports fans.
