History behind the Hape
The man behind Hape Toys is named Peter Handstein. Peter comes from a small town in Germany, where he grew up with a family that had great respect for nature. Peter began his career as a salesman for a toy company that produced educational toys for German kindergartens. He visited many schools and talked to many experts, and in 1986 he established Hape with his sister, Sabine, and one of their friends, Renate.
Today, Hape Toys are sold in more than 60 countries. The products have become so popular as they are innovative, creative, sustainable and educational.
