The Philips Avent baby monitor has DECT technology, which provides a crystal clear sound as well as a 100% secure and private connection. You can therefore be sure that you are the only one listening. This guarantees that there is no interference from others transmitter devices.
The baby monitor has a smart ECO mode which reduces automatic audio transmission and increases battery life. This means that the closer you are to the kid, the less power is needed to achieve a perfect connection. The parent unit notifies you when it is out of range or when the power level is low.
Light is activated to indicate the sound level in the baby's room, even if the sound on the parent unit is muted. It has an indoor range up to 50 meters and an outdoor range up to 330 meters.
The baby unit has a night lamp with warm and soothing light, which helps the kid to fall asleep.
The parent unit works perfectly with power from the mains, but you can achieve extra mobility by inserting batteries so that it is used without a cord. It enables up to 24 hours of wireless roaming before recharging is required. However, it depends on the type of batteries used.
NOTE:It is recommended that rechargeable batteries be used in the parent unit. The parent unit must not be constantly charged as it will damage the batteries. For the baby unit, it is recommended to use alkaline batteries of a good quality, as otherwise they drain the alarm for power.
