The story behind Champion
The Champion brand has been around for more than 100 years and was founded by the Feinbloom family in Rochester, NY in 1919. In 1939, Champion created college jerseys and T-shirts with the logo from the University of Michigan.
These were the ancestor of the college clothes that we wear today as well as the basis for the original versions of the sweaters, T-shirts and hoodies from Champion. The iconic 'C' for 'Champion' was created in 1956 and has since been on the left sleeve of all their jerseys.
Famous people and artists started to use the sporty clothes from Champion in the late 80s and beginning of 90s. The trend started in New York City and within the genres Hip Hop and Punk.
Champion - a safe choice of sportswear
In 1992, Champion made all the official clothes for the 27 teams that play in the U.S. Nba (National Basketball Association). They also made the clothes for all the American basketball teams between 1989 and 2001. Glen Rice also broke a world record with shoes from Champion.
In 2017 Champion opened their first store in Europe. The shop is located in the iconic London district of Soho. Champion has been established as a major player in both sports and the fashion world.
The kids clothes from Champion are a sure winner when it comes to style and durability.
