The story behind Zig

After the war, in the 1970s, there was an economic crisis in Japan. The Japanese people were looking for writing and art articles at cheap prices that were still of high quality, and it was during this period that Kuretake published their ‘Zig’ fine liner pen. Zig comes from the order ‘zigzag’, which was invented due to the movements you make with the hand when writing.

After experiencing great success with their fine liner, Kuretake decided to make ‘Zig’ the general brand for their other pens and markers. Today, the Zig collection is sold in more than 80 countries worldwide and has thus become a popular global brand. These are truly phenomenal quality markers that can be used for all sorts of creative ideas.
