How Lyle & Scott was started
In 1874, William Lyle and Walker Scott began producing underwear. To start the business, they had to borrow £800, which was a lot of money at that time.
They began to create sporty clothes for golfers with a nice retro style. In 1960 they created the logo with the eagle that still represents the company and the clothes. The logo comes from the golf course where an 'Eagle' means that you go two strokes below the hole's par.
