Behind The North Face
The North Face was founded in San Francisco in 1996 by two mountaineers who had a passion for exploring. They wanted to share their hobby and help anyone who wanted to explore nature. They started a small shop to support anyone who wanted to explore nature while protecting themselves against the elements.
Soon after, the store was named The North Face and it quickly became known for selling equipment for climbing and hiking. In 1968, The North Face began designing and manufacturing its own technical equipment.
They also began sponsoring expeditions to unvisited parts of the world. This tradition still exists today and it has led to The North Face mantra: Never Stop Exploring™.
The North Face has developed many innovative products that are incredibly popular today such as their Thermoball and Fuseform. They have changed the way technical clothing is produced. The North Face will always continue to develop and optimize their design.
