The story behind Sigikid
Sigikid is a family-owned company. They have been around for more than 150 years. Sigikid's parent company is H. Scharrer & Koch GmbH. They were founded in 1856 and originally produced glass beads. In 1910, Theo Köhler took over the business and introduced toys to the range.
When the next generation in the family took over in 1968, the trademark Sigikid was born. The name is a combination of the founder's first name Sigi, card for Sigrid, and kid, after Axel - the first born in the Gottstein family.
Today, it is Axel who runs Sigikid in Germany, while his sister Eva and her husband manage the business in the USA.
