The story of G-Star RAW
The company was founded in 1989, and is probably best known for their luxurious denim, which most people know from the street scene. Using innovative production methods and a street edge, they created a new form of denim: raw, untreated denim for jeans.
They have since evolved their denim by creating new types of denim washes and treatments that create completely unique looks. The brand also draws inspiration from military clothing.
G-Star RAW is a Dutch company, founded by Jos van Tilburg. They have even had Australian designer Marc Newson design collections, and in 2016 Pharrell Williams became a co-owner - this led to a collaboration with his company "Bionic Yarn". The collaboration led to denim, made from recycled plastic from the ocean. Today G- Star Raw has more than 6500 sales points worldwide.
